What can I use Hypnosis for?

Clinical Hypnosis is used for medical, psychological, emotional and even dental purposes. Hypnosis can be used to tackle any issue because each individual treatment plan is tailored to your unique requirements.

Is it possible for everyone to be Hypnotised?

Yes, but there are some exceptions. Hypnosis is not possible for very young children as they may have difficulty with focus and imaginary vs reality. People with severe brain damage cannot be hypnotised, nor can people with mental conditions that impair their perception of reality, some medicines also have an effect on this. People cannot be hypnotised against their will and Hypnosis will not work for a client if they are attempting to change for someone else. Change must be your will, the therapy will only work if you really are congruent and open to change. Every individual client is different and The Transformation Practice work closely with you on a personal level to build rapport and find the best practice for you.

But I am strong minded, will hypnosis still work for me?

Hypnosis will only work if you allow yourself to be open to change. Strong minded people can still be hypnotised if they want the benefits that accompany the therapy. In fact strong will can be a huge benefit when a person sets their focus in a positive direction. If you are willing to spend money on the therapy, then I assume that you are committed to finding change and are willing to work with me to transform your life. If I don’t think hypnosis will work for you in Session 1, I will give you a full refund.

How long does it take to work?

Every individual treatment plan is unique and each client’s journey is different. It can vary greatly as to how long the process takes for the client to achieve their goal.

Each session is 90 minutes long and you must commit to at least 4 sessions with me to ensure we have scope for change. As they say ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’. It can take time for the new positive behaviours and thinking patterns to become second nature.

Hypnosis is by far the most efficient tool when problem solving as it uses the resources found in our unconscious mind to heal itself and find better ways of living, transforming our wellbeing without us having to spend hours, weeks, months or even years in talking therapy.

Do I have homework?

During each session with me, I will give you self-help tools to better equip you on your journey to achieving your goal. It is important that you use these tools regularly at home and work them in to your daily routine. This is the ‘practice’ part of The Transformation Practice.

If you are undertaking one of my online courses, the work is always done at your own pace. Worksheets are provided for you to complete as part of the lessons.

How many sessions do I need?

I recommend starting with 4 sessions with me, but it really does depend on the issue at hand and the goal in mind. Hypnosis usually takes between 4 and 8 sessions to feel the full effects of transformation.

The online courses have 6 modules, each consisting of 3 lessons, 1 video, Worksheets and 1 mindfulness audio accompaniment.

How do I know the hypnotherapy is working?

Your results will start to become clear after the very first session with me. You will definitely feel more positive and in the case of addictions such as smoking, significant effects can be felt such as loss of craving and withdrawal symptoms. The more you use your self-help tools at home, the quicker transformation will occur.

I don’t like not being in control…

You remain in complete control all throughout the hypnotic process, you can open your eyes, stand up and leave at anytime. Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation, the aim for me is that you will be so relaxed and enjoying the space and peace you are giving your mind, that you won’t want to open your eyes or even bother listening consciously to what I am saying. Many people leave hypnotherapy sessions feeling rejuvenated and energised as just 20 minutes of meditation is equal 8 hours of good sleep!

You are in complete control of the session and if you wish at any time for the session to be at an end you have the freedom to end it, just let me know by saying STOP.

Is it safe?

Hypnotherapy is completely safe, it only works on people who are congruent with change and want to engage in transformation. Hypnosis cannot work against a person’s will, everything comes from you. I work with the Eriksonian model of Hypnotherapy whereby the guidance is taken from the client, I look at our therapy sessions from your map of the world and use your language to guide us to transformation.

How do the online courses differ from 1 on 1 Hypnotherapy?

The online courses offered by The Transformation Practice are developed with self-hypnosis, mindfulness and NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) techniques in mind. They are super flexible so that you can practice your own time and learn at your own pace. Each course comes with a support workbook, videos and mindfulness audios to help you on your way to transformation.

The 1 on 1 Hypnotherapy sessions work with you as an individual using the same premise as the online courses, incorporating NLP, hypnosis and mindfulness. The difference is that the 1 on 1 sessions have a personal coaching aspect, we can drill down together in to the problem and work through the to the solution as a team. Some people find it much easier to work through their issues with a therapist to listen, support and guide them. Others find it more beneficial to relax and engage in hypnosis with a therapist in the room, rather than an audio. The hypnosis in the 1 on 1 session will be tailored to your specific language, whereas the online course audio packages are generalised to incorporate all who listen, what personalises an online course is the work you do alongside it. Both are very powerful, it just depends on how you would like your therapy model to look and feel.

What exactly is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis, put simply is a deep state of relaxation whereby external distraction is temporarily blocked out. A Hypnotic trance is a heightened state of awareness whereby the Client is highly open to suggestion, their unconscious mind (the survival and wellbeing driver in the brain) is listening intently to the therapist’s direction. The conscious part of the brain is deeply relaxed and at ease, therefore the critical thinking part of the brain (that usually argues against action or change) is at rest, therefore enabling positive thought reinforcement to occur and transformation to happen.

Can I have my 1 on 1 Hypnotherapy session on Zoom?

Yes you can if this is your preference. The model of hypnosis on the Zoom call will differ slightly from the face to face booking as we will work within ‘Light Trance’, this provides an element of safety for you as I am not there in the room with you. It is still an extremely effective therapeutic model, as are the recorded online courses I offer at The Transformation Practice.
